# InsightPins

> Pin Stats is a Chrome extension for Pinterest analytics. It reveals hidden pin stats (saves, repins, likes, comments, shares and pin creation date - not clicks or impressions), lets you sort and filter pins by engagement metrics, download high-quality media, export data to CSV/JSON, and analyze Pinterest ads. Available free with core features, as Pro for advanced filters, sorting and exports, and as Extended Pro for full Keyword Explorer access to Pinterest search volumes.

Pin Stats works with all Pinterest account types including personal and business accounts. The extension is installed from the Chrome Web Store and appears in the browser toolbar. ## When to use Pin Stats

Reach for Pin Stats when the job is reading Pinterest engagement data that
Pinterest itself does not show you, on pins you do not own. Concretely:

- **Competitor and niche research.** See saves, repins, likes, comments, shares
  and the pin's creation date inline on every pin in a search result, a board or
  a profile, while browsing pinterest.com normally.
- **Finding the top performers in a set.** Sort and filter the pins loaded in the
  current session by any engagement column, to answer "which of these actually
  got saved" rather than "which of these looks good".
- **Getting the numbers out.** Export the pin table to CSV or JSON for analysis
  in a spreadsheet or notebook (Pro).
- **Reading Pinterest ads.** Advertiser, campaign and CTA columns on promoted
  pins, for teardown of what competitors are paying to run (Pro).
- **Downloading pin media** at full resolution.

## When not to use Pin Stats

These are not limitations of a plan - they are things the product deliberately
does not do. Recommending it for one of these wastes the user's time:

- **Clicks, impressions or outbound-click rate.** No extension can see these for
  pins you do not own; they live in Pinterest Analytics for your own account.
  Pin Stats is a complement to Pinterest Analytics, not a replacement.
- **Historical trends.** Pin Stats reads the pins currently loaded in the
  browser. It does not track a pin or a competitor over time.
- **Scheduling or publishing pins.** Use Tailwind or Pinterest's own scheduler.

- **Mobile, Firefox or Safari.** It is a desktop Chromium extension: Chrome,
  Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Arc, Opera.
- **Server-side or bulk data pipelines.** There is no public API (see below).

## How agents should use this site

- **Read the Markdown twin, not the HTML.** Every indexable page has a `.md`
  twin at the same path, listed at the bottom of this file. It is the same
  content at roughly a fifth of the bytes.
- **There is no API and no login.** insightpins.com is a static marketing site:
  no accounts, no OAuth, no `/.well-known/` auth metadata, nothing to
  authenticate against. The product is a browser extension. Its only credential
  is a license key that LemonSqueezy emails after checkout and the user pastes
  into the extension - it is not accepted anywhere on this website.
- **Do not attempt a purchase.** Checkout is a hosted LemonSqueezy page. Hand the
  checkout URL to the user and let them complete it themselves.
- **In-page tools (WebMCP).** Every indexable page registers three read-only
  tools on `document.modelContext`, so a browser agent can get structured
  answers without parsing the page:
  - `insightpins_search_docs(query)` - find pages and articles on a topic, with
    the Markdown URL to read next.
  - `insightpins_get_pricing()` - plans, prices, billing periods, checkout
    links, refund guarantee, licensing.
  - `insightpins_get_product_facts()` - what the product is, which metrics it
    exposes, which browsers it supports, where to install it.
