1. Information We Collect

We run four separate things, and they collect different data. This section describes each one on its own rather than lumping them together.

The Pin Stats browser extension

• Pin data stays in your browser. The pins you view, the stats collected for them, your bookmarks, your keyword searches and your saved settings are stored in your own browser (IndexedDB and browser storage) on your computer. We do not receive them, and we cannot read them. Clearing the extension's data or uninstalling it removes them.
• License validation. If you enter a license key, the extension sends that key and your browser's user agent string to our licensing server each time it checks whether your subscription is active. We use this only to confirm the key is valid.
• Crash reports. When something goes wrong, the extension sends an error report to our error monitoring provider (Sentry). A report can include the error and its stack trace, the extension page the error happened on, your browser and operating system version, and your IP address.
• No usage tracking. The extension contains no analytics. We do not record which pins you analyze, which filters you apply, which features you use, or how often you use them.
• Third-party resources. The extension's dashboard, popup and options pages load styles and icon fonts from public content delivery networks (cdnjs, cdn.datatables.net and Google Fonts). Those providers see your IP address when the files are requested.

• Analytics. We use Google Analytics and Google Ads tags to measure traffic and conversions. These set cookies and record your IP address, browser, device type and the pages you visit. See our Cookie Policy.
• Remarketing. We use Google Ads remarketing. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to show our ads on other websites based on your past visits to insightpins.com. You can opt out of personalized ads in Google's Ad Settings, or opt out of many vendors at once at optout.aboutads.info.
• Contact and support. If you write to us or use a form, we receive the name, email address and message you send.
• Server logs. Requests to our servers are logged with IP address, browser type and timestamp for security and abuse prevention.

The Pin Generator (app.insightpins.com)

• Analytics. Google Analytics, as above.
• Your email address, if you choose to give it to us to unlock more exports. We store it with our email provider to send you product updates. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
• The URL you paste is fetched by our server to extract the page's title, description and images. We do not keep the extracted content after the response is returned.
• Your account, if you sign in with Google. Google tells us your email address, your name and your Google account ID, and we keep those three to identify you. Google also sends your profile picture; we do not store it. We never see your Google password.
• Saved styles, if you save a pin's look while signed in: the name you give it and the template, colors, font, text sizes, button text and site name you chose. When you remove one we hide it but keep the record, and use removed styles only to learn which looks are popular.

The InsightPins connector for Claude (app.insightpins.com/mcp)

The connector lets Claude, or another AI assistant that supports MCP, make pins for you. It only works with an InsightPins account.

• Connecting. When you connect it, you sign in to your InsightPins account with Google (see above) and approve the connection. We keep a record of the connection: which app it is for, when it was made and last used, and a scrambled (hashed) copy of the token the app uses. Claude never receives your Google sign-in, only that token. A connection that goes unused for 30 days expires.
• What the assistant sends us. Only what its requests to the connector contain: the page URL you asked about, the pin text (headline, subtitle, button text and site name), extra template fields such as a price or cook time, image URLs, and your design choices (template, colors, font, text size). We do not receive your conversation, files you share with the assistant, or anything else from your account there, unless you ask the assistant to put one of your own photos on a pin (see "Uploaded photos").
• Pages and images. Our server fetches the page to read its title, description and images, and fetches the images to draw the pin. We do not keep the page's content after responding.
• Uploaded photos. When you want one of your own photos on a pin, the assistant uploads it to us, or gives you a link to a page where you upload it yourself (the link works once, for 15 minutes). We accept JPEG, PNG and WebP images. Before storing a photo we turn it upright and remove the information a camera or phone adds to it, including its location, the device and the time it was taken. We store the photo with Cloudflare R2 at a random, unguessable address, so the pin can be drawn; anyone who has that link can open it. It is deleted 7 days after you upload it (deletion can run up to a day later). We do not use your photos for anything else.
• Upload records. For each upload we keep the time, the image size, format and dimensions, and whether it came from the assistant or the upload page. We use them to count your daily upload limit, and they stay for as long as your account does. They do not contain the photo.
• Server logs. As on the website, requests are logged with IP address, browser type, country and time. Our server also logs when you connect an app, each photo you upload (its size and format), and any page fetch, upload or render that fails, together with your account ID; a failure can include the page or image URL.
• Rendered pins. Pin images are stored with Cloudflare R2 so you can download them. Each one has a random, unguessable address, and anyone who has that link can open the image. They are deleted 7 days after they are made (deletion can run up to a day later).
• Render records. For each pin we keep the time, the template, colors and font, the image format and size, and the headline. We use them to count your daily limit and to list your recent pins on your dashboard. They stay for as long as your account does. While the pin's image exists (7 days) we also keep the rest of the pin as it was drawn: the subtitle, button text, site name, extra template fields, image links, and text and photo settings. That is what lets you reopen the pin for editing from your dashboard. These details are removed after 7 days (removal can run some time later); the image links may point to pages or photos outside our service.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Information Sharing

• Public Content: Any content you share via our services may be visible to others and is treated as public.
• Third-Party Service Providers: We may share your information with trusted third-party partners or service providers who assist in operating our services. All such partners are required to uphold confidentiality and security standards.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal obligations.

4. Your Choices

• Privacy Settings: You have the option to adjust your privacy settings within our services to control the sharing of certain information.
• Account Management: You may update, correct, or delete your personal information by managing your account settings or by contacting us directly.

5. Data Retention and Security

• Retention: We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
• Photos you upload through the connector are deleted 7 days after upload; the record of the upload (without the photo) stays with your account.
• Security Measures: While we implement robust security measures to safeguard your data, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is entirely secure.

6. Children's Privacy

Our services are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe that we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

7. External Influences and Updates

Occasionally, changes made by Pinterest or third-party platforms may affect the functionality of our services. We will strive to update and maintain our extension accordingly. In some cases, adjustments and fixes may require additional time, and we will keep you informed if such changes impact data processing practices.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy regularly to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.

9. Free Tools on Our Website

• Keywords You Type: When you use a tool that shows Pinterest search volumes, the keyword you type is sent to our keyword service so it can answer.
• Notify Emails: If you ask our homepage or one of our free tools to email you (for example, a one-time note when a keyword is added to our dataset, or the extension install link for your computer), we store your email address together with the exact consent wording you agreed to, and send that one email through our email provider, Resend. Once it is sent, or after 14 days if the keyword has not been added by then, we erase your address. You can also ask us to delete it sooner by replying to the email or via the contact email below.
• Optional Updates: The same forms offer a separate, unticked box: “Also send me occasional InsightPins updates. Unsubscribe any time.” Only if you tick it do we keep your address after that one email, together with that wording and the time you agreed, to send you occasional InsightPins product updates. Every such email has an unsubscribe link; using it withdraws your consent and erases your address at once. Leaving the box unticked changes nothing about the email you asked for.
• Rate Limiting: To keep the free tools available to everyone, our keyword service counts requests per visitor for up to one day. These counters are transient, are never joined to the keywords you search, and raw IP addresses are not retained in our database.
• The Pinterest CSV Checker: The checker reads the file you give it, or the text you paste, inside your browser. The file is not sent to us or to anyone else, and the checker itself keeps nothing in your browser storage. Like every page on this site, the page loads our analytics tags, which are described in the Cookie Policy. If you press the optional image check, your browser loads each image link listed in your file, so the sites that host those images receive those requests from you. The analytics events the checker sends carry only counts and the names of its rules: roughly how many pins the file had (as a range), how many errors and warnings were found and which rules fired most often, which column separator the file used, how many fixes were made, how many image links failed to load, and whether you downloaded the template or tried the date and quoting examples on the page. They never carry the text of your file, its name, or a link in it.
• Local Storage: The tools keep your recent results and your daily lookup counts in your own browser storage, and share the results with each other so that a keyword you already looked up in one tool is not counted again in another. Each tool counts its own daily lookups. That data stays on your device and is not sent to us.
