Where the numbers come from
Pinterest publishes a monthly search count for every interest topic. It is the same figure Pinterest shows as how many people searched a topic. This tool reads those counts, stores them in our own dataset, and refreshes them about weekly, which matches how often Pinterest recomputes them. Volumes drift about one percent between refreshes, so what you see here is as fresh as a live check. This tool is built by InsightPins and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Pinterest.
From one broad keyword to a pin that can rank
Take bedroom ideas. Pinterest reports 7,285,225 monthly searches for it. That demand is real, but a new pin aimed at a phrase that broad competes with millions of established pins and rarely surfaces.
The long tail list is where the opportunity is. Phrases like minecraft bedroom ideas and attic bedroom ideas carry a fraction of the volume and a fraction of the competition. A pin titled for one of those phrases has a realistic chance to rank, and the volume next to each phrase tells you which ones have demand before you design anything.
That is the whole workflow: check the broad keyword, steal its long tail, and spend your design time only on phrases people actually search.

Pinterest search volume is the number of times people searched a keyword on Pinterest over the past month. Pinterest publishes this figure for every interest topic, and this tool shows you that exact number rather than an estimate.
From Pinterest. The tool reads the interest data Pinterest publishes for each topic and serves it from our own dataset, which we refresh about weekly. The numbers are the same figures Pinterest shows as how many people searched a topic.
Pinterest only tracks keywords that map to a distinct interest topic, and small wording changes matter. Try the did you mean suggestions, a different word order, or a broader phrase. If a keyword is simply new to our dataset we queue it and usually add it within days.
Pinterest recomputes its own figures roughly weekly, and we refresh our dataset on the same cadence. In practice the volume you see here matches a live check on Pinterest within about one percent.
